Shilamandi Union is one of the Union Parishads in Sadar Upazila of Narsingdi District. Shilamandi Union was established in 1961. Here is Shekerchar Bazar Babur Hat Bazar known as Prachar Manchester. Most of the bananas of this Narsingdi district, famous for bananas, are produced in this Shilamandi union. Most of the big industrial companies of the country have been established here.

Within the borders of the Union. Various types of vegetables are grown here which meet the needs of the local people and are exported outside the district. Many golden sons were born in this union who are earning a lot of money by working in the country as well as abroad. Many brave freedom fighters participated in the freedom struggle.
